Presenting our illustrations for the article titled "How the Coronavirus is Changing Our World" in the VIEWS magazine. These illustrations beautifully capture the transformative impact of the pandemic on various aspects of our lives, from architecture and cities to the digitalization of justice.
Let's begin with the cover illustration, where we depict a young woman seen from behind, pulling back curtains that act as a theatrical backdrop. Those curtains represent a cityscape, bathed in shades of orange, symbolizing the pandemic era. As she unveils the new scene behind the curtains, a landscape emerges with vibrant green hues and a clear blue sky. This visual transition represents the hope and renewal that can emerge as we navigate through the challenges of the pandemic.
Moving on to the opening illustration of the article, we present an image of a man standing on the peak of a cliff. Inspired by the famous painting "Wanderer above the Sea of Fog," our illustration portrays the man gazing into the horizon. However, instead of a traditional sun setting, we depict a symbolic representation of the COVID virus, illuminating the sea as a sunset would. This juxtaposition signifies the profound impact of the pandemic on our lives and the need for reflection as we move forward into an uncertain future.
These illustrations serve as visual metaphors, capturing the essence of the article's themes. They invite readers to contemplate the profound changes brought about by the pandemic, particularly in areas such as architecture, cities, and the legal system. Through the interplay of color, symbolism, and perspective, we aim to evoke emotions and stimulate deeper reflection on the evolving world around us.
